The Kits: Once again this spring, our church will assist UMCOR in its worldwide mission by putting together Hygiene Kits. You will find a materials list – along with Ziplock bags – at the back of the sanctuary.
Would you fill a bag with the items listed below, and deliver them to church by the first week in June? The completed kits will be taken to Annual Conference in Roanoke in mid-June. Monetary donations are also welcome – please make a check out to FUMC and list Hygiene kits in the memo line. Thank you!
The Cans: Donations of non-perishable food are also wanted before Annual Conference. All contributions will be given to the FACES Food Pantry. You’ll find a collection in in the sanctuary.
UMCOR HYGIENE KIT MATERIALS
One hand towel (15 x 25 –17 x 27 inches)
(No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)
One washcloth
(No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)
One comb
Must be sturdy with at least 6 inches of teeth
No pocket combs or picks
Rattail and combs without handles acceptable
but must have at least 6 inches of teeth
One toenail or fingernail clipper
No emery boards or metal nail files
Bath-size soap (3 oz. bar or larger)
No Ivory or Jergen’s soap
Do not remove from packaging
One adult toothbrush
Do not remove from packaging
Personal advertising not acceptable
10 adhesive bandages (¾ by 3 inches)
Common household bandages acceptable
One one-gallon size re-sealable bag
